Located at some 3.000 meters altitude in the Swiss Alps, close to Verbier top station at Mont Fort, this project is truly off-grid. There is no infrastructure, water needs to be collected from a natural spring higher up in the mountain side, open one to two month a year, and stored for the rest of the year. Electricity comes from an arrangement of integrated solar panels, batteries and a back-up generator, heat from a pellet heater. The building sits on the same footprint as a previously existing building on the site, with a basement halfway set into the mountain side and the other half exposed.
