The design of the congress center is a contemporary interpretation of Metz’ built heritage, through an original composition around light and a symbol of Moselle’s architecture: the local Jaumont limestone. The building is embellished with a curtain sculpted from stone, whose silhouette evolves throughout the day with the movement of the sun. This cladding made of a grid combining opacity and transparency creates a play of light and shade inside the building, reminiscent of the St Étienne’s cathedral.

From the outside, it gives the building a monolithic appearance in the daytime while it seems to be dematerializing at night. Metz Congress Robert Schuman is the first congress center in France that meets HQE (High Environmental Quality) standards. Access, modularity, optimal organization of flow, or adaptability of equipment... Metz Congress Robert aims to be an attractive landmark of the Metropole of Metz and a new catalyst of its development.
